Bible Journaling: Numbers 7

Numbers 7 is a chapter filled with repetition. In this chapter the twelve tribes, excluding Levi, brings dedication offerings to the Lord over the span of twelve. We also learn that some wagons and oxen were presented to the Lord, so that these could be used for carting the tabernacle and its utensils around. These were distributed to the two Levite clans, namely the Merarites and the Gershonites. However, the Kohathites had to carry their allotted portion on their shoulders, as these were the most holy items. Years later, it would be in defiance of these regulations, that a man would lose his life, when David had the Ark returned to Israel. My journaling for this chapter was more decorative than illustrative.

The chapter looks like this in the Inspire Praise Bible.

I treat my pages with Dala Clear Acrylic Gesso.

When dry, the pages look like this.

I underline a favourite passage with a golden Gelli Roll Pen. It is verse 89:
Whenever Moses went into the Tabernacle to speak to the Lord, he heard the voice speaking to him from between the two cherubim above the Ark's cover - the place of atonement - that rests on the Ark of the Covenant. The Lord spoke to him from there.

I then use Tim Holtz Distress Stain to colour the background of the pages.

I use double-sided tape to glue some pretty pictures into the Bible. These are simply pictures that make me happy, and they remind me of the small everyday miracles and blessings that we receive from God's hands. They do not necessarily relate to the topic of the chapter.

The completed layout.
