Buying shofars outside Brits

I recently had a very interesting outing, along with three friends. Three of us had gone on a ladies weekend along with nine other women, where we became aware of the blessings and power hidden in the faithful sounding of the shofar. Make no mistake, none of us believe that the horn has any power whatsoever, but it was rather obvious to all of us that when a believer blew the shofar prayerfully and believing, that the Holy Spirit manifested powerfully in our presence. No, it is not a way in which to manipulate the Holy  Spirit, but if done in submission and intercession, God does seem to honour the act. Anyway, having returned from the camp, we all decided that we wanted to acquire some shofars for ourselves. Today's blog is about the trip we took to do this.

The place we went to is located just outside of Brits, and is called Shalom Shofars. They can be reached at 0827610634. The website is www.shalomshofars.co.za. Or email them at marinda@shalomshofars.co.za.

They had a wide variety of shofars available from a number of ram's horns. We were rather astounded by the number of horns available from this relatively small shop.

The prices of the shofars ranged from around R250-R6000, depending on size and other factors that I know very little about. We had a lot of fun trying out the different shofars and deciding upon which to buy. What made the experience extra special, is the person who was assisting us. She took each one of us aside during the time that we were there, and she ministered and shared with us. It was a truly remarkable and blessed experience. But God is ever good to all of His children, and before we left, He allowed us to minister to Joey as well.

When we were done, we had a late lunch, where we enjoyed the quirky scenery and decor.

More locks as decor.

The giant fish at the entrance.

One friend has a ministry on a bicycle called Bella, which she uses to draw attention to, and promote, certain causes or programmes. It seemed fitting to photograph her with the bike.

After we had purchased our shofars, we prayed together and blew our shofars. One friend decided to record the event. We were astounded by the brilliant light of the sun that shone down on us, when we reviewed the video clip. You can watch the video clip on YouTube at this link:
