Bible Journaling: Numbers 25

In Numbers 25 we are still continuing the story of Bileam and Balak. The Moabites have changes tactics, though. I Bileam wasn't going to curse the Israelites, the Moabites would use sex to seduce the Israelite men away from God and into idolatry. This is exactly what happened - and it was the leaders who were targeted. Moses called the judges together and instructed them to clean up their own families, putting to death all who have sinned. As he was speaking, an Israelite man brought a Moabite woman past the assembly and entered a tent with her. Phineas, Aaron's son, got so angry at this blatant disregard of what God had instructed, that he followed them into the tent and drove a spear through the man, impaling the woman in the process. As a result, his family line was selected by God to serve as high priests. For my journaling of this chapter, I opted to stick to words, rather than illustrations.

Numbers 25 looks like this in the Inspire Praise Bible.

I treat the pages with Dala Acrylic Clear Gesso.

When I am ready to start journaling, the pages look like this.

I use a Croxley Gel Pen to highlight important texts in the chapter, such as verses 10-13:
Then the Lord said to Moses, “Phinehas son of Eleazar and grandson of Aaron the priest has turned my anger away from the Israelites by being as zealous among them as I was. So I stopped destroying all Israel as I had intended to do in my zealous anger. Now tell him that I am making my special covenant of peace with him. In this covenant, I give him and his descendants a permanent right to the priesthood, for in his zeal for me, his God, he purified the people of Israel, making them right with me.”

I also underline verses 16-18:
Then the Lord said to Moses, “Attack the Midianites and destroy them, because they assaulted you with deceit and tricked you into worshiping Baal of Peor, and because of Cozbi, the daughter of a Midianite leader, who was killed at the time of the plague because of what happened at Peor.”

I then scribble all over both pages with a Faber-Castell Gelatos stick.

I spritz the pages with water.

Then I use a dry make-up sponge to blend the damp Gelatos.

I use ribbon tape in both margins of the pages.

I then find a sticker alphabet sheet to use.

I spell out the words 'Covennat' and 'Zealous' with the stickers.

I then find some decorative stickers to use on the pages.

The completed pages.
