Bible Journaling - Exodus 15

Exodus 15 contains the words of a song that Moses taught the Israelites after they were freed from their Egyptian bondage and rescued from the Egyptian pursuit. The chapter ends with the first of many complaints by the Israelites during their journey through the desert. They arrived at a fountain after travelling for three days without water. However, the water is bitter. God intervenes and shows Moses what to do and the water is sweetened. However, this short passage sets the tone for what follows during this journey. I opted to illustrate this chapter with an ornate G-note.

Exodus 15 look like this in the Inspire Praise Bible.

I prepare the pages with a coat of Zellen Clear Gesso.

Once the gesso is dry, the pages look like this.

I colour the illustration in the left margin with Mont Marte Adult Colouring Duo Markers and a metallic pen.

This is what my pages look like at this stage.

I use an HB pencil to draw a G-note on one page. I then draw piano keys into the curve of the note.

I use a black Faber-Castell Pitt pen to redraw the illustration.

I use the same pen to decorate the note and pages some more.

I then is a Pentel Aqua Brush and Derwent Inktense Blocks to paint the illustration in very subtle hues.

What my layout looks like when I am done.
